Education
Lloyd Levine is standing with parents and teachers to strongly oppose the Governor’s proposed $4.8 billion in budget cuts to our schools.
With California already ranking 46th out of 50 states in the nation in per-pupil spending, Lloyd is fighting in the Legislature to restore education funding and invest in California’s future.
Time and again, voters have supported a minimum funding guarantee for schools – and Lloyd is working hard to ensure that the state’s budget does not undermine that promise to our students.
He knows that cuts to schools will only shortchange our future, and believes California’s 6.3 million students deserve better. That’s why he won’t stop fighting – until our schools and students get the funding they deserve.
Transportation
Assemblymember Lloyd Levine knows that traffic problems are only getting worse in our area, impacting the quality of life for local families, and polluting our air as stalled cars linger on congested roadways. That’s why Lloyd is working on creating public-private partnerships to help alleviate the traffic issues and solve traffic congestion problems faster.
Lloyd also supports sustainable communities and creating more mass transit options for commuters. He even rides his bicycle to work on most days!
Environment
Assemblymember Lloyd Levine has scored 100% on his voting record from the Sierra Club because you can depend on him to protect the environment.
He also wrote the “most important plastics recycling bill of the last 20 years” according to Mark Murray, Executive Director of Californians Against Waste. That’s because Lloyd took a simple concept – recycling plastic grocery store bags – and made it an accessible reality for all Californians by ensuring that grocery chains provide recycling containers for these bags at their stores.
